Fight Predictions: Donaire vs Narvaez

“The Filipino Flash”, the next ‘Manny Pacquiao’, but he likes it more to be ‘Donaire’, one of the most exciting fighters of this generation. He is recognized to be a leading fighter of his division, and on 22nd of October, he takes on the undefeated Omar Narvaez a flyweight title holder. Narvaez has his dreams of his own, proving a no-defeat fighter for 5 years, he will be on the ring with the much taller, Nonito Donaire. This is a Bantamweight excite match between two big dreamers and rising names of the boxing world.

Is Narvaez a threat?

Madison Square Garden, New York, will witness the battle. Narvaez will try to snatch the WBC/WBO Bantamweight belt from Donaire. Narvaez took a long time holding on the flyweight belt, and now he wants to hold a new one, the bantamweight belt of the WBC/WBO champion.

He is known to be following the footsteps of fellow countryman, Manny Pacquiao. He is on his way to be one of the elite fighters of the boxing world with a record of 26 wins with 1 lost and 18 knockouts. He stands at 5’7” with a remarkable hand speed and a finisher that surely will send the opponents down the canvas. He is a thrill-maker, using right and left stands to effectively turn the opponents fight strategy upside-down. For a few years now, his name becomes a great threat to the famous fighters of every other division while he plans to climb up to a new division. He is the “Filipino Flash” Nonito Donaire.

Donaire is challenged by the warrior from Argentina. He is an unbeaten southpaw with a 35 win, 0 lost record. Narvaez is the present WBO Junior Bantamweight title-holder from 2010, and he is also the WBO Flyweight title-holder since 2002 to 2009. Donaire should be very cautious, because Narvaez is known to target the body. He loves getting close, fighting toe-to-toe with a high defensive stance and pounding punch that could really hurt his opponent. When he starts the smash fest, that means he is getting rough and is serious to take away the opponents title.

Narvaez standing at 5’3” might not be an effective opponent to bombard the much taller Donaire standing at 5’7”, but boxing analysts believes that there would be a turn of events when Narvaez could penetrate his punches on a closer range, giving the disadvantage for the taller fighter to land power punches. But still the question is if Narvaez could overcome a much taller fighter when it was obvious that he had a hard time against Cesar Seda which he won because of the scorecards, and now a much faster fighter than Seda. Narvaez will be in the ring with a talented, skillful fighter, but will his heart of a warrior defeat Donaire, or will Donaire continue his winning streak?
